HOW WE HELP
OCTOBER TRIP TO BELIZE
Each October a group of 20-30 people travel from mostly Colorado, down to San Ignacio, Cayo District, Belize to work with students and staff at several schools in the area. The group is able to offer modeled lessons, in-class support and professional development.
SCHOOL SUPPLY DRIVE
Through the generous donations of our communities in the United States, the group traveling to Belize is able to bring with them a variety of school supplies and other resources to benefit the students and teachers in Belize.
APRIL VISIT TO COLORADO
Each April, the Belize Education Project sponsors a group of teachers and principals from the schools they work with in Belize to stay with our families in Colorado and visit our schools. This gives them an opportunity to continue their individual professional development and to develop plans to take back to Belize to continue the professional development for their colleagues.
HIGH SCHOOL SCHOLARSHIPS
Through the generous donations of our individuals in the United States, many students are able to receive the financial support they need to continue their education in high school.
ANNUAL BOOK DRIVE
At the end of each school year, several schools ask their communities to donate gently used books that they no longer need so that we can ship them to the schools in Belize to enhance their school and classroom libraries.
